Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud unveiled a jointly engineered multicloud networking solution on November 29, 2025, enabling private, high-speed connections between their platforms in minutes. The service integrates AWS Interconnect-multicloud with Google Cloud’s Cross-Cloud Interconnect, replacing weeks-long manual setups involving physical infrastructure with automated, cloud-native provisioning via console or API.
This open-specification product offers dedicated bandwidth starting at 1 Gbps, scaling to 100 Gbps, backed by quad-redundancy, continuous monitoring, and MACsec encryption for reliability and security. Currently in preview across five AWS Regions, it supports workloads like AI, analytics, and disaster recovery, with Microsoft Azure integration planned for 2026.
Early adopter Salesforce praised the seamless bridges for data unification across clouds. AWS VP Robert Kennedy called it a “fundamental shift,” while Google Cloud’s Rob Enns highlighted simplified global connectivity. The move signals a push toward open multicloud ecosystems amid rising enterprise adoption.
