India’s Trade Enablement and Marketing (TEAM) Scheme is redefining how Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) access digital markets by leveraging cutting-edge Digital Public Infrastructure. Central to this initiative is integration with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), enabling MSMEs to establish digital storefronts and access a government-backed e-commerce ecosystem with seamless payment and logistics support.
The scheme aims to onboard around five lakh MSMEs by 2027, emphasizing inclusion with half of the beneficiaries being women entrepreneurs. By formalizing MSMEs’ digital transactions and building credible digital profiles, TEAM enhances their market visibility and trustworthiness among consumers and buyers.
Implemented under the government’s Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) program, the TEAM initiative prioritizes capacity building through workshops and training focused on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. This approach addresses barriers to digital adoption and promotes equitable growth across segments including SC/ST and women-led enterprises.
Unlike credit or loan schemes, TEAM focuses on trade enablement—using technology to unlock market access and scale business operations digitally. The National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) collaborates with state governments for execution, underscoring strong public-private coordination.
