Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Skyroot Aerospace’s Infinity Campus in Hyderabad on November 27, 2025, through video conferencing, marking a major milestone for India’s private space industry. The state-of-the-art facility spans 200,000 square feet and is designed to enable end-to-end development of orbital rockets, including production capabilities reaching one launch vehicle per month.
Modi also unveiled Vikram-I, Skyroot’s first orbital-class rocket, poised for its maiden launch in early 2026. The campus integrates design, assembly, integration, and testing functions to accelerate India’s indigenous space capabilities in collaboration with startups. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy attended the event in Hyderabad.

Founded by former ISRO scientists and IIT alumni, Skyroot represents the growing wave of Indian private space players fostered by government reforms. Modi praised the role of young innovators and startups in expanding India’s space technology, emphasizing the government’s commitment to nurturing this ecosystem and aiming to create five new space unicorns within five years.
Skyroot’s Infinity Campus underlines India’s strategic push into commercial space launch services, strengthening the country’s position in the global space economy while fostering entrepreneurship and self-reliance in advanced aerospace technologies.
