India Government Greenlights 22 Electronics Projects Worth ₹41,863 Crore in ECMS Boost India’s government has approved 22 proposals under the third tranche of the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), unlocking ₹41,863 crore in investments across eight states. Spanning key components like PCBs, capacitors, connectors, enclosures, Li-ion cells, camera modules, display modules, and optical transceivers, these projects target mobiles, telecom, automotive, and IT hardware sectors. Expected to drive ₹2,58,152 crore in production and create 33,791 direct jobs, the initiative marks a significant step toward self-reliance in electronics.
Major players securing approvals include India Circuits, AT&S India, and Shogini Technoarts for PCBs; Deki Electronics and TDK India for capacitors; Amphenol for connectors; Tata Electronics, Motherson, and Yuzhan for enclosures; ATL Battery for Li-ion cells; Dixon for optical transceivers; Samsung Display for modules; and Hindalco for aluminium extrusion. Facilities will operate in Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, fostering regional growth.
This tranche elevates total ECMS approvals to 46 projects across 11 states, with ₹54,567 crore committed and 51,000 jobs projected. MeitY officials emphasize the scheme’s role in fortifying supply chains and reducing import dependence, aligning with India’s ambition to emerge as a global electronics manufacturing powerhouse.
