Gmail’s Gemini Makeover Brings AI Summaries, Writing Help and Smarter Inbox

Google is pushing Gmail into the Gemini era with AI Overviews, Help Me Write, upgraded Suggested Replies and a new Proofread option for paying AI users. A separate AI Inbox view will infer importance from frequent contacts and email relationships. The features begin rolling out in English in the US on January 9, with wider expansion planned.
