Amazon is set to cut up to 30,000 corporate jobs—about 10% of its workforce—to trim costs and correct pandemic overstaffing. The layoffs will affect tech, devices, and AWS divisions. At the same time, Amazon is doubling down on AI through its new Frontier AI & Robotics (FAR) team, led by Rocky Duan. CEO Andy Jassy says AI will redefine roles. Meta also recently laid off 600 in AI.
