Flipkart, aiming to reinforce its senior leadership, has announced the appointment of Somnath Das as Vice President, Supply Chain, and Digbijay Mishra as Vice President, Corporate Communications. These strategic hires are designed to enhance Flipkart’s operational and strategic capabilities. Das will spearhead supply chain operations for Flipkart’s large business segment, focusing on boosting network efficiency through technology-driven solutions. His extensive background includes over twenty years in the CPG, retail, and food and beverage industries. Before joining Flipkart, Das held the position of Senior Vice President at Jubilant FoodWorks and leadership roles at Reliance Retail (Grocery), Nivea India, Marico, and PepsiCo India.
Mishra will lead Corporate Communications for the Flipkart Group, overseeing integrated communications and stakeholder engagement. Prior to joining Flipkart, he was Deputy Bureau Chief (Startups) at The Economic Times and the founder of Ringsight Advisory. The Flipkart Group comprises Myntra, Flipkart Wholesale, Cleartrip, and super.money. The company boasts over 500 million registered users and a marketplace of more than 1.4 million sellers. These appointments highlight Flipkart’s commitment to strengthening its operational backbone and enhancing its communication strategies as it continues to expand its market reach. Das’s expertise in supply chain optimization and Mishra’s background in strategic communications are expected to drive significant improvements in these key areas.
